Before and after right split earlobe repair and bilateral lobule piercing in a 33-year-old woman. Thanks to her rambunctious puppy several years ago, her right earring had pulled completely through her earlobe, resulting in a complete split. She had stopped wearing earrings altogether and her left ear piercing had essentially closed.
A right lobule repair was performed in the office under local anesthesia. Dissolving sutures were used to repair the split, and both earlobes were pierced at the same time. She took several days off work to keep her physical activity quiet and resumed exercise at two weeks postop.
Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. She is very grateful that this simple office procedure allowed her to wear earrings at her wedding!
