My lovely patient wanted more volume to the upper lip. Her lower lip is naturally fuller than the upper. I have treated her lips in the past and the pictures here are of the final stages of increasing the volume to the upper lip. I used the Swedish Lip technique, which is a very detailed approach and allows me to work within the lip without causing as much swelling. It also allows me to place filler only in areas that it is needed.
When a lip is thin it is best to “stage” the filler. Meaning at minimum two sessions of lip filler to gradually increase the volume of the lip compartment. It is safer and the appearance is usually better. Increasing volume gradually can also decrease the likelihood of filler migration to unwanted areas, i.e. the cutaneous lip (the white area above and below the pink part of the lip.
My patient loves her result! She feels “I am more confident” in my appearance. I am thrilled I could give her this result.
