Before and after left breast revision in a 32-year-old woman. She had previously undergone breast augmentation and had some asymmetry that was bothersome enough to her to plan a breast revision. Her left implant had developed capsular contracture and had bottomed out, failing a previous attempt at suture correction to support the left inframammary fold. She also had mild symmastia (uniboob), where the left implant was sitting too close to the midline, distorting her cleavage.
Her revision involved removal and replacement of her left breast implant, capsulectomy to reopen the implant space and insertion of P4HB mesh to further support the left breast fold and avoid the left implant sitting too close to the other breast. After surgery, she took two weeks off work and experienced very minimal discomfort, requiring only Tylenol for postoperative pain medication.
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery. She has a much more symmetric outcome and the left breast has remained soft and natural looking.
