Before and after liposuction of the circumferential body (lipo 360) in a 47-year-old woman. At the same time as a breast lift and liposuction of her axillary rolls, she wanted to contour her midsection and thighs.
Under general anesthesia, the areas of fat to be reduced were injected with a warmed, sterile mixture of normal saline (sterile saltwater), lidocaine (local anesthetic) and epinephrine (adrenaline, used to constrict blood vessels in the region) to prepare them for fat removal. A blunt-ended wand called a “cannula” was inserted through several 2-3 millimeter incisions, and five liters of fat were permanently removed from her upper and lower abdomen, circumferential flanks/love handles, pubic region and upper inner thighs.
Follow up photos are shown just 6 week after surgery, with an impressive early *reveal* of her beautiful hourglass shape that was formerly hidden! She is thrilled with her outcome even so soon after surgery, as are we. In another several months, she will appreciate her final results. Fat removal with liposuction is permanent, and as long as patients’ weight remains stable after surgery, results can be appreciated even decades later!
