Before and after liposuction of the abdomen and anterior (front side) flanks in a 43-year-old woman. She was healthy, active and fit, but had some stubborn fat around her mid-section that she wanted to be rid of! She also had some fat around her back side (posterior flanks), but she was less interested in addressing this region.
Liposuction removed over three liters of excess fat from her upper and lower abdomen, her love handles from the front, and her pubic region. Surgery was done asleep under general anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. After surgery, she wore compression under her clothes for a full two months.
Long-term follow up photos are shown nearly 2 years after surgery. She has greatly improved contours of her waist and flanks region. The last set of images taken from behind show some minor residual fat that could be contoured if she wishes in the future. Additional liposuction of her posterior flanks would require her to be turned face-down on her stomach and additional tiny incisions around the back, hidden in her swimsuit tan lines.
