Before and after breast augmentation in a 29 year old woman with congenital chest wall asymmetry.  This is one form of scoliosis, a condition where the skin and rib cage is "twisted" in one dimension or another, causing breast asymmetry in addition to an uneven contour to the chest wall.  The right side of her chest wall was downsloping and her sternum was slightly indented (known as pectus excavatum), causing her right breast to look more prominent on the side than in the medial cleavage area.

Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed via an incision in the inframammary fold, on top of the muscle (the subglandular position).  After surgery, she took a week off work and three weeks off exercise.

Follow up photos are shown six months after surgery.  Her scars are hidden in the breast fold.  She loves the increased fullness of her breasts and how she is now filling out her bras and swimsuit tops.  There is still evidence of her chest wall asymmetry, but it doesn't bother her.  She is very pleased with her results!
