Before and after mini-abdominoplasty and liposuction of the body in a 55-year-old woman. She came in to see us looking for an improvement in her figure with less downtime than a full tummy tuck. What bothered her was the extra fat in her midsection, hips and thighs she had accumulated during menopause, and the lower abdominal “pooch” of extra skin and fat.
Since her children were older, she called her Mommy Makeover a “Menopause Makeover.” This procedure included a mini-abdominoplasty, where excess lower abdominal skin and fat were surgically excised, but her abdominal muscles were not repaired.
Liposuction removed seven liters of fat from her upper and lower abdomen, pubic region, circumferential flanks and bra rolls, and upper inner and outer thighs. This procedure was performed in the hospital; in outpatient surgery centers, we are limited to removing up to five liters of fat at one time. The last set of images show the surgical excision and fat removed using liposuction from her body.
Follow up photos are shown 3 years after surgery, with mature scars and an improved body contour.
