Before and after gynecomastia correction (male breast tissue reduction) in a 41 year old man. He had always had somewhat fatty breasts but over the last 6 years had accumulated more fat in his chest and midsection.
Male breast tissue is more firm and fibrous than other areas of the body. Because of this firm fat, a special type of liposuction is required to adequately treat and remove this fat and breast tissue.

Ultrasonic liposuction (UAL, or ultrasound-assisted liposuction) is required to break up this tissue and allow it to be suctioned out through tiny incisions hidden in the fold under the breast and in the armpit area. This man’s chest is quite hairy; shaving the chest is not necessary for liposuction procedures.

UAL removed fat from this gentleman’s breast and armpit regions. After surgery, he wore an ACE wrap and compressive foam followed by a compression garment under his clothes for 6 weeks. Follow up photos are shown three months after surgery. He still has firm swelling that is visible and palpable; it will continue to be reabsorbed slowly over the next 3-6 months.
