Before and after bilateral explantation in a 55-year-old woman with saline breast implants. Her left implant had spontaneously several months previously – she now could see what her breasts would look like without implants, and she knew she wanted them out!
Bilateral explantation was performed in our office operating room under local anesthesia, using her existing scar under the breasts. After surgery, she showered in two days and resumed exercise in two weeks.
Follow up photos are shown 2 weeks after surgery. Her right breast will continue to contract and look more normal, just like her left breast did previously with the saline implant rupture.
