Before and after breast augmentation and mastopexy in a 25 year old woman. She naturally had small breasts with a tubular shape. Tubular breasts tend to be small-sized and widely-set, with a high inframammary fold and the appearance of “pseudo-ptosis” (apparent droop), a large and puffy areola with much of the breast tissue being located immediately behind the nipple.

Most women with tubular breasts are uncomfortable with the appearance of their breasts. They often state they “just want to look normal”, “feel more feminine” and “be able to fill out a bra”. This was the case with this patient.

Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed in the subglandular position. A mastopexy around the areola helped to reduce the bulging areola tissue and create a less cone-shaped contour to this region of the breast.

Follow up images are shown at one month after surgery. She will begin scar therapy in a few weeks. Incisions are expectedly pink with a surrounding flush that occurs with increased blood flow to healing tissues. She is thrilled with her results and much more comfortable in her own skin!
