Before and after breast revision in a 46-year-old breast cancer survivor.  Following a different breast procedure elsewhere, she developed a hematoma (blood accumulation) around her left breast implant – resulting in excess scar tissue formation and capsular contracture, with the left implant sitting up too high on the chest wall.

Her revision involved left capsulectomy to remove scar tissue and reopen an adequate breast pocket lower down on the chest wall and implant exchange.  Drains are required after this procedure for around a week.  The implant is changed as capsular contracture can also result from bacteria around the implant.

Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery, with greatly improved symmetry.  The left implant is now sitting where it should be, resulting in the inframammary fold scar to be hidden in the breast fold.
