Before and after bilateral explantation in a 42-year-old woman with chronically contracted and painful breast implants. She had had them in for eight years and was sick of trying to conceal them in every outfit. As she entered perimenopause, she wanted to be less top-heavy and to go back to her “OG body.”
Bilateral breast implant removal was performed under local anesthesia, with inhaled laughing gas offered to her throughout the procedure and an oral anti-anxiety pill the night before and the morning of surgery. The internal capsule around the breast implant was left alone – it fades and eventually goes away after the breast implants are removed.
After surgery, she worked from home for a week and resumed exercise at two weeks postop. Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. She is very satisfied with her natural results and her decision to have surgery!
