Before and after bilateral breast augmentation revision in a 46-year-old woman. She presented with chronic pain and tightness of her breasts that limited her from doing the exercises she wanted at the gym and caused mental and physical stress at work, since she had a physically demanding profession.
Her submuscular implants were tight and constantly under tension due to their complete submuscular coverage. She disliked the wide space between her breasts as well, which is a result of the muscles pulling the implants outward every time the muscles are engaged.
Her revision involved removal of the old saline breast implants, reconstruction of her normal muscular anatomy by returning her pectoralis major muscles to the chest wall, and insertion of new smooth round silicone gel breast implants on top of the muscle, in the prepectoral/subfascial/subglandular position.
She also chose to have an abdominoplasty at the same time with liposuction of her axillary rolls, abdomen, flanks and upper inner thighs.
Follow up photos are shown a year and a half after surgery. Her breasts look much more natural and symmetric with nicer cleavage. She had immediate relief of her physical complaints as soon as she woke up from surgery!
