Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 37-year-old BRCA gene-positive woman. She had previously undergone bilateral prophylactic nipple-sparing mastectomies and immediate implant reconstructions. Her implants were under the muscle and sitting abnormally high due to their submuscular placement.
Her breast revision involved removal of her old textured implants, replacement of the pectoralis major muscles to the chest wall, and insertion of new smooth round silicone gel breast implants on top of the muscle, in the prepectoral position. Her goal was to be fuller than her previous implant size, so her implants were increased in volume by around 200 cc on each side.
Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls. Long term follow up photos are shown 4 years after surgery, with persisting results and a natural looking outcome – especially for a breast reconstruction!
