Before and after bilateral breast implant revision with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 39-year-old woman. Her submuscular implants were hard, contracted, painful with deformity – classified as Grade IV capsular contracture.
Her revision involved removal of the old implants – which were ruptured, as seen in the last image – reconstruction of her pectoralis major muscles to the chest wall, and insertion of new smooth round silicone gel breast implants on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. Liposuction removed fat from her armpits and bra rolls.
After surgery, she took one month off lifting more than five pounds and exercise. She took one full week off work and worked from home after that, limiting driving, typing on her laptop and using a computer mouse, dictating instead and taking calls on the phone or on Zoom.
Follow up photos are shown 2 months after surgery, with a much more natural look and soft, symmetric breasts.
