Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 48-year-old woman. Her old saline implants had visible rippling seen through the breast skin and were spaced very far apart and contracted, causing deformity and pain. She felt embarrassed by her breasts and felt the need to “hide them” in most outfits.
Her revision involved removal of the old saline breast implants, capsulectomy to open up a more normal breast “footprint,” and insertion of new smooth round silicone gel breast implants. Her nipples were lifted to a higher position on the breast using a periareolar incision all the way around the areola.
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery. She is actively applying scar gel which will help her scars fade faster, and is appreciating her softer, more natural looking implants – with much nicer cleavage!
