Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 33-year-old woman with partially submuscular implants and a tubular breast shape. Her goal for her first surgery was to look and “feel more normal” regarding her breasts, but she felt “deformed” and unnatural.

Her revision involved converting her implants from under the muscle to on top of the muscle, called the “subglandular” position. Her pectoralis major muscles were reattached to the chest wall and resutured to her ribs and sternum. A new pocket was created on top of the muscle, and slightly smaller smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed.

A breast lift repositioned her nipples and areolas to a higher and more central position on the breast mound. This resulted in a new “lollipop” scar in addition to the scar in the breast fold that she already had.

Early follow up photos are shown 2 months after surgery. She is ready to begin scar therapy and she already loves her more natural looking, symmetric and perky breasts!
