Before and after breast implant revision in a 61 year old woman. She had saline breast implants in for years. After a left breast biopsy, her implant deflated on that side from an inadvertent puncture during the biopsy. She wanted to keep implants rather than have them removed, and was excited to switch to silicone for a more natural implant feel.

The old scars around the bottom of her areola were used to access the implants. The saline implant on the right and the deflated shell on the left were removed, the pocket was opened up (called a capsulotomy) and new silicone gel breast implants were placed.

Follow up photos are shown three months after surgery. She is relieved to learn that her silicone implants will likely be intact for many years to come and that this is likely her last surgery.
