Before and after bilateral breast augmentation revision in a 34 year old woman. Her previously placed submuscular implants sat too wide, with bottoming out of her left implant and a severe animation deformity. She had considered having her breast implants removed altogether, but was willing to consider a revision if she could look natural without muscle spasms and deformity.

Her revision involved removal of her implants, replacement of her pectoralis major muscles to the chest wall, and creation of a more normal implant pocket in the subglandular position. This creates a more normal cleavage distance simply by converting to a subglandular augmentation. Her left inframammary fold was reconstructed to keep the implant from sliding down the chest wall as it did when the implant was under the muscle.

Liposuction of her armpits (axillary rolls) removed excess fat in this area – the only place that stored fat on her body! Follow up photos are shown one month after surgery. Her armpit bruising is still resolving and her animation deformity is gone. She is very happy with her revision results and looks forward to getting back to the gym.
