Before and after bilateral explantation of contracted breast implants, breast revision and mastopexy in a 59 year old woman. She had a previous augmentation and mastopexy with recurrent capsular contracture.

Her implants were sitting up too high, creating deformity. She had also gone through menopause since her breast augmentation surgery and gained some weight; she felt she no longer needed the extra volume of her implants. She was ready to have them removed and a more natural look to her breasts.

Both implants were removed and scar tissue from the internal capsule was excised. Her remaining breast tissue was rearranged as a mastopexy (breast lift). Follow up photos are shown three months after surgery. Her incisions are still pink as expected for early stages of scar maturation. As surgical swelling continues to go down, her results will improve even further.
