Before and after delayed nipple and areola reconstruction in a 51 year old breast cancer survivor.  She previously had implant reconstruction performed elsewhere; she was seeking a breast reconstruction revision and nipple-areola reconstruction.

As part of her breast revision procedure, her left nipple was reconstructed by the “nipple sharing” or free nipple graft technique.  Her areola was reconstructed by medical tattoo.

The first set of before photos show the nipple and areola reconstruction, and the second set, the donor nipple.  The nipple that “donates” a piece of itself to the other side becomes around 50% smaller than its original size. It maintains normal sensation and likely breast feeding ability.

Follow up images are shown 7 weeks after nipple and areola reconstruction.  Her full before and after for her breast revision procedure can be found in the Revision Breast Surgery gallery.
