Before and after mastopexy in a 36 year old woman. She had previously undergone a breast reduction many years ago, followed by an augmentation as part of a Mommy Makeover when her breasts became deflated after nursing her babies.

Her areolas were stretched out and were positioned low on the breasts. She liked her breast size and shape; she just wanted her nipples to sit higher! She was an ideal candidate for a breast lift that only involved the skin.

A skin-only mastopexy was performed in the office under local anesthesia, with the skin numbed and the patient awake. This is comparable to “taking in a seam” in a dress to allow for better contour around a woman’s curves.

Excess baggy lower breast skin was trimmed around the nipple and areola to decrease the areola diameter. The vertical scar was redone to tuck hanging breast skin in towards the breasts. Markings on the skin before the procedure are shown as the last photo in this series of images. The implants were not exposed, and she did not require any drains.

Early follow up photos are shown 8 weeks after surgery. She has started scar therapy and is so happy she did this procedure, without the need for general anesthesia and feeling groggy and nauseated afterward!

Once her scars mature, her incisions will fade and become nearly imperceptible.
