Before and after right nipple-sparing mastectomy and immediate breast implant reconstruction in a 47-year-old woman with right breast cancer. She did not require any surgery on her left breast, so she chose to leave this breast alone. She wanted a very natural look, and to match her left natural breast size and shape.
A combined mastectomy and reconstruction was planned, using an incision hidden in the fold of her right breast. A permanent, postoperatively adjustable saline-filled breast implant was placed on top of the muscle, in the prepectoral/subcutaneous plane. It was fully inflated at the time of surgery.
After surgery, her right breast drain was removed in a week, and she took a month off work. She chose to keep her saline breast implant for reconstruction and have her implant port removed under local anesthesia in the office. Follow up photos are shown 4 years after surgery.
