58-year-old woman with extensive left breast DCIS and significant preoperative bruising after her biopsy. She wished to avoid radiation therapy and opted for a left nipple-sparing mastectomy. A left immediate single-stage breast implant reconstruction and a right balancing augmentation achieved symmetry of her breasts and maintained her body image. Postoperative images at one year after surgery are shown. Mild rippling can be seen at the upper aspect of her left breast reconstruction; this consequence that indicates the implant is soft can be minimized by a supportive bra.
