56-year-old woman with a history of bilateral breast cancer, bilateral implant reconstructions and recurrent capsular contracture, pain and deformity. She wished to have conversion of her implant-based breast reconstructions to flap reconstructions. Both implants were removed, scar tissue was excised (capsulectomy), the breast footprints were made more symmetric, and bilateral DIEP flaps were performed at the same procedure to achieve better symmetry and smaller, softer, natural breast reconstructions using her own body tissue. Note she has some mild scoliosis that causes her posture to be off-center.
