Before and after bilateral inverted nipple correction in a 23-year-old woman. She had Grade II-III inversion (one only partially came out when pinched, the other never fully came out) that made her self-conscious in intimate situations. She had tried nipple piercing to help get her nipples out, which did nothing but create a scar.
Inverted nipple correction was performed in the office operating room under local anesthesia with inhaled laughing gas and an oral anti-anxiety medication. After surgery, she took a week off work and two full weeks before resuming exercise. Her nerves woke up completely, regaining normal sensation within six months.
Follow up photos are shown 2 years after surgery, with an enduring, natural looking result. She looks forward to starting a family in the distant future, and is relieved to know that breastfeeding is real possibility.
