Before and after bilateral inverted nipple correction in a 34 year old woman. She had not yet had children. She was very self-conscious about the appearance of her nipples and that they never fully became erect, even in an intimate setting. We describe these types of inverted nipples as Grade II.

An inverted nipple correction allowed her nipples to become “everted” via a straightforward office surgery under local anesthesia and an oral anti-anxiety medication. We also offer our patients Pro-Nox, a patient self-administered mixture of nitrous oxide (laughing gas) and oxygen during the local anesthetic (numbing) injection, and throughout the procedure if patients wish.

Follow up photos are shown a year after surgery. She now doesn’t think twice about removing her bra in front of others. She is very pleased with her natural looking results and is comforted to know that future breastfeeding will likely be possible.
