Before and after bilateral breast reduction and lift as reconstruction in a 44-year-old woman with left breast cancer.  She had been contemplating a breast reduction for years, and now with a recent diagnosis of breast cancer, she had two goals at once – treat her breast cancer and get smaller and lifted breasts!  The preoperative images show bruises and bandages from a recent biopsy.

A large lumpectomy was done at the same time as her breast reduction and lift.  Additional margins were taken around the tumor to ensure all cancerous cells had been removed.  A local tissue rearrangement was performed at the same time using the auto-augmentation technique to lift the breast.

A right balancing breast reduction and lift was done at the same time.  Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls to complete the procedure.  After surgery, she underwent left breast and chest wall radiation for five weeks, beginning at six weeks postop.

Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery, and 3 months after completion of left breast radiation therapy.  She is very pleased with her results!
