Before and after breast lift (mastopexy) in a 23 year old woman.  She had several up and down weight fluctuations since her teen years, resulting in deflation and drooping of her breasts – similar to the effects of breast feeding.  She felt her breasts did not reflect her youth. She wanted a lift of her breasts and natural result but not to look fake.

A mastopexy removed excess breast skin and reshaped her breasts to a perkier form.  Her areola diameter was decreased to be more proportional to her breasts. Liposuction removed excess unwanted fat from the sides of her breasts and the back fat/bra roll.

A strong connection was maintained between the nipples and the rest of the breast tissue to keep blood vessels, sensory nerves and milk ducts intact.  The two major functions of the breast are the ability to nurse a baby and erogenous sensation to the nipple. No matter what type of Plastic Surgery to the breast, we always strive to preserve these functions, particularly in young women who have not yet had children.

Follow up photos are shown two months after surgery.  A breast lift creates “the look of wearing a bra, without needing to wear a bra”.  She has just started scar therapy and has resumed unrestricted exercise. Her scars will take up to a full year to fade and flatten.  The firm swelling at the sides of her breasts will continue to resorb over the next several months.
