Before and after bilateral delayed breast implant reconstruction via breast augmentation with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 59-year-old breast cancer survivor. After having a left lumpectomy and radiation therapy, she had breast asymmetry that resulted in her bras pulling to the right larger side.
Her reconstruction involved placement of smooth round silicone gel breast implants on top of the muscle, in the prepectoral position. A right breast lift helped to remove redundant lower pole baggy skin and lift the nipple on the right.
Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls. Fat was added to her left lateral lumpectomy defect to help fill out this deficit, which was magnified after radiation therapy.
Follow up photos are shown 3 years after surgery. While she still has some asymmetry which is mostly due to radiation, she has greatly improved symmetry and feels very comfortable in her skin.
