Before and after breast augmentation in a 32 year old woman. Her left breast was smaller and higher than her right side. This type of breast difference is extremely common (often the norm for women) and is part of the preoperative assessment during a breast augmentation consultation.

She also had an accessory nipple under her left breast – these are more common than you think! Her left breast fold sat higher than her left and she had mild asymmetry. Correction of these anatomic details are always part of the surgical plan.
This patient wanted more full and voluptuous breasts. She had a nice breast shape, so achievement of her goals was straightforward.

Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. She took one week off work and resumed full unrestricted exercise at 3 weeks. Because there was no muscle cutting at severe stretching (like in submuscular or subpectoral augmentations), her recovery was simple and nearly painless!

Follow up photos are shown two years after surgery. Her sensory nerves woke up at three months postoperatively and she regained full nipple sensation by six months. She feels like the implants are part of her and is so happy with her decision.
