Before and after bilateral breast augmentation and a lift (mastopexy-augmentation) in a 27 year old woman with mildly deflated and tubular breasts. She had experienced weight fluctuations of 20 pounds up and down several times over the last 5 years. Her breasts bore the brunt of this, ending up deflated and droopy, similar to what can happen after nursing babies. She was NOT yet a mother, but looked forward to being a Mom someday!

She always wore a padded pushup bra and she wanted the look that she was creating with her bra, but without having to wear a bra! She was an ideal candidate for a mastopexy to lift her nipples and a breast augmentation to increase her breast volume.

Smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the subglandular position. She was very physically active, lifting weights several times a week, and was relieved to learn that sparing pectoralis muscle function is the goal for all our patients. She was also happy to learn that having breast implants and getting a lift would not interfere with her future ability to breast feed.

A breast lift raised the position of her nipples and areolas and tucked loose and baggy breast skin from the bottom, creating a perky and more youthful look. Liposuction of the sides of her breasts and armpit region (axillary rolls) completed the procedure.

Follow up photos are shown 3 months after surgery. Her breast shape is now evident, and her scars are starting to mature. The scars will continue to fade over the next year. She loves her new breasts and feels proportional to the rest of her curves. Having this procedure has increased her confidence in her body and allowed her to wear whatever top or dress she wants without giving “what bra do I need to wear with this?” a second thought. On social media she is sharing that she has joined the “no bra club”!
