Before and after liposuction of the body in a 36 year old woman. She was relatively slender, but her body hung on to extra fat in her hips and thighs. She disliked how pants always fit too snugly in this area.
Liposuction removed fat permanently from her hips and outer thighs (saddle bags), her inner thighs in the front and the “banana roll” under her buttock crease. Follow up photos are shown two years after surgery.
We get asked all the time: “If I gain weight after having liposuction, won’t the fat come back somewhere else?” The answer is no – the remaining fat cells in your “trouble area” don’t know their brother and sister fat cells have been removed, so they will want to store excess fat preferentially in the future.
That’s way maintaining a regular exercise schedule and responsible, healthy eating is key to maintain a great result after liposuction surgery, which is what 99% of our patients do!
