Before and after bilateral brachioplasty (upper arm lift) with liposuction of the arms and axillary rolls in a 61-year-old woman. She had previously lost a significant amount of weight, which left her upper arms empty and baggy. She wanted to wear a sleeveless dress at her granddaughter’s graduation ceremony in six months.
A brachioplasty removed excess upper arm skin, creating a long inner arm incision that was hidden with her arms at her sides. The weight of removed arm skin was only a couple of hundred grams (think a cup on each side), but over two liters in total of fat was suctioned from each upper arm, her armpit region and bra rolls. After surgery, she wore a compression garment under her clothes for a full two months.
Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery, with mature scars and her final results. She rocked a sundress at the graduation ceremony and for the first time in a long time, didn’t automatically reach for a sweater to cover up her arms!
