Before and after mini-abdominoplasty and umbilicoplasty with liposuction of the abdomen in a 37-year-old mother of twins. She had minimal separation of her abdominal muscles and did not want a full abdominoplasty, which involved rectus diastasis repair.
Any procedure termed “mini” usually does not include all components of the “full” procedure – in this case, only skin and fat were removed from her lower abdomen, and her belly button was not repositioned. Her old navel piercing was removed and replaced with a small scar that healed very nicely. Liposuction removed 250 cc (a cup) of excess subcutaneous fat from her central belly groin.
Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery. She is very pleased with her results, and that we worked together with her and considered her requests and specific goals when designing her surgery. Shared-decision making is key when planning any Mommy Makeover!
