Before and after abdominoplasty and liposuction of the abdomen and flanks as part of a Mommy Makeover in a 38-year-old mother – of six! – She earned this surgery! At the same time as a breast augmentation and labiaplasty, she wanted to regain her formerly flat belly.
An abdominoplasty removed excess lower abdominal skin and fat, as shown in the second last photo. Many of her stretch marks were removed with the abdominal skin excision. Her abdominal muscles were repaired back to one another in the midline, correcting her diastasis recti (rectus diastasis).
The remaining abdominal wall skin was pulled downward snugly, and her belly button was brought out through a new skin opening, like bringing a button through a button hole. Liposuction removed excess fat from her upper and lower abdomen, pubic region and upper inner thighs. The actual fat removed is shown in the last image.
Follow up photos are shown 6 months after surgery, with a greatly improved abdominal contour and maturing scars.
