Before and after abdominoplasty with liposuction of the body in a 36-year-old woman. After three pregnancies, she had developed rectus diastasis – permanent separation of the rectus abdominis muscles that caused an abdominal bulge and loss of definition of her waistline.
An abdominoplasty removed excess lower abdominal skin and fat, repaired her muscles back together in the midline (as shown in the last two photos), and redraped her abdominal skin tightly downward. Her belly button was preserved and brought out through a new incision, like bringing a button through a buttonhole.
Liposuction permanently removed fat from her upper and lower abdomen, pubic region, circumferential flanks and upper inner and outer thighs.
Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery. Her scars are mature, and she has her final results.
