Before and after abdominoplasty and liposuction as part of a Mommy Makeover in a 39-year-old mother. After three full-term pregnancies and several big babies, her abdominal wall had lost its natural tone and developed countless stretch marks that served as a constant reminder of how much her body had changed, and how little control she had over it since becoming a Mother.
A tummy tuck removed over a kilogram (two and a half pounds of abdominal skin and fat) together with most of her abdominal stretch marks. It repaired her rectus abdominis muscles back together in the midline, and redraped her abdominal wall tightly downward.
Liposuction removed excess unwanted fat from her axillary rolls (armpits and bra rolls), upper and lower abdomen, anterior flanks, pubic region and upper inner thighs. After surgery, she took a month off work and her usual “Mom duties” and gave her body a full three months to heal before an involved work trip.
Follow up photos are shown 3 years after surgery, with faded, mature scars and a proportional, natural-looking and enduring result.
