Before and after liposuction of the neck in a 53 year old woman. She looked in the mirror and saw her mother’s and grandmother’s neck! She had recently started a new job and wanted to refresh her look. While she originally inquired about a neck lift, she did not have the time to take off for a larger surgery like a MACS lift.

Liposuction of the neck and jowls area was performed under local anesthetic in the office as a simple outpatient procedure. She took a week out of the office but worked from home.

She wore a compressive chin strap as much as possible for the first week at home, and while she slept for the second week. Her bruising resolved by two weeks. During her first week back at work, she wore a neck scarf to cover any evidence of surgery.

Follow up photos are shown at one month after liposuction. Her jawline and neck appearance is greatly improved, despite some residual edema (firm swelling) that will gradually resolve over the next two months. While she still may consider a neck lift in another 10 years, for now, she loves her neck and no longer sees her older female family members’ necks when she looks in the mirror!
