Before and after abdominoplasty and liposuction in a 23-year-old woman.  She had several up and down weight fluctuations since her teen years, resulting in loss of lower abdominal skin tone and an overhanging section of skin and fat above her pubic region.

She had not had any pregnancies yet, so she did not have rectus diastasis, so her tummy tuck was considered a modified procedure since it did not include muscle repair.  Skin and fat was removed from her lower abdomen, as seen in the last photos.  Her abdominal wall was pulled snugly downward, and her belly button was brought out through a new skin opening.

Liposuction removed fat from her upper and lower abdomen, pubic region, circumferential flanks, axillary rolls and upper inner thighs.  Cannisters holding the removed fat are shown as the last image.

She has just started scar therapy and has resumed unrestricted exercise.  She has covered her lower abdominal incision with concealing makeup as a trial for an upcoming tropical vacation – it works very nicely!  Her scars will take up to a full year to fade and flatten, which she has experienced from past mole removal.

Follow up photos are shown two months after surgery.  Normal firm swelling called edema in all areas where surgery was done will continue to resorb and soften over the next several months.
