Before and after mini-abdominoplasty in a 68-year-old woman. At the same time as a breast procedure and a labiaplasty, she wanted to improve the contour of her lower abdomen. While she had not had children, her abdominal hysterectomy had left her with an indented scar and a lower abdominal “shelf.”
Skin and fat from her lower abdomen was surgically excised and her anterior abdominal wall and pulled snugly downward. After surgery, she took a full month off exercise due to her breast surgery and gradually resumed yoga and running.
Follow up photos are shown 5 months after surgery, with a normal bright red immature scar and a flatter contour to her belly. With time, the redness of the incision will recede as she heals, and it will be as flat and faded as her former abdominal scar.
