Before and after bilateral breast implant removal and breast revision in a 65-year-old woman. Her breast implants had been in place for over fifteen years. Although she had enjoyed them, after menopause she had gained weight and now felt too “matronly”. She was looking for a less heavy and more natural looking result.
Bilateral explantation was performed under local anesthesia, with an oral anti-anxiety medication and inhaled laughing gas. A wedge of excess lower pole breast tissue, skin and fat was excised at the same time, and her past breast reduction and lift scars were redone to achieve a modest breast reduction and lift at the same time.
After surgery, she took a full month off pickleball and began applying scar gel at six weeks, once all her scab were gone. Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery.
