Before and after bilateral breast reduction and liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 20-year-old woman. She found clothes shopping frustrating, exercising painful and had to sleep with a bra on just to sleep through the night.
A breast reduction removed two and a half pounds of excess breast tissue from each breast. Her remaining breast tissue was reshaped and lifted using the auto-augmentation mastopexy technique. Liposuction removed over a liter of excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls. After surgery, she took a full month off work and started exercising – without pain! – at six weeks postop.
Follow up photos are shown 2 years after surgery. She has had a few fluctuations of her weight, resulting in some drooping of her breasts, more on the left than the right. It does not bother her, but she is happy to learn that a revision of her incisions can be done under local anesthesia that would create better breast symmetry.
