Before and after liposuction of the abdomen and circumferential flanks in a 50-year-old woman. She was in perimenopause and noticed she was starting to accumulate more fat in her mid-section. After being disappointed by non-surgical fat reduction machines, she wanted to improve her body contour with the least amount of downtime.
Liposuction removed nearly two liters of excess fat through several tiny (2-3 mm) incisions, hidden in skin creases wherever possible. After surgery, she wore compression under her clothes for three months to encourage skin contraction and reabsorption of postoperative firm swelling, called edema.
Follow up photos are shown 1.5 years after surgery, with a greatly improved body contour and a happy patient who is motivated to stay fit and maintain her results!
