Before and after bilateral breast implant revision in a 27-year-old woman. Her submuscular implants had superior malposition (higher on her right dominant side due to muscle contraction), a severe animation deformity, breast asymmetry and physical symptoms including pain and tightness. She wanted to keep an implant but to have “normal looking boobs” and to be a little fuller than her current size.
Her revision involved removal of the old implants from under the muscle, returning her pectoralis major muscles to the chest wall, creation of a new subglandular pocket and insertion of smooth round silicone gel breast implants in the subglandular position. Liposuction removed fat from her armpits and bra rolls.
Follow up photos are shown 6 weeks after surgery, with a more natural looking result, improved symmetry and a happy patient. Immediately when she woke up, the former pain and tightness were gone! She resumed exercise at four weeks and finally has the augmentation results she wanted.
