Before and after bilateral explantation and mastopexy in a 51-year-old patient. Her saline breast implants had been in place for over twenty years, and she was tired of them. She felt they made her look top-heavy and matronly. She wanted a lifted but natural look to her breasts.
Explantation was performed in the office under local anesthesia. We offer patients inhaled laughing gas and recommend an oral anti-anxiety medication as well. Her nipples and areolas were lifted, and excess lower pole skin was removed, creating an additional lollipop scar.
Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery, with incisions that are still pink from healing and a lifted, more round and shapely breast.
