Before and after bilateral breast revision in a 40-year-old woman. Over twenty years previously, she underwent augmentation to correct congenital breast asymmetry. She had developed new asymmetry and wished to have a revision procedure to improve her results. Her goal was to be a little bigger than her current breast size and to have better nipple congruence.
Her revision involved removal of the old saline breast implants, capsulectomy to remove scar tissue and open up a larger implant pocket, and insertion of new smooth round silicone gel breast implants. A right mastopexy lifted the right nipple and removed excess baggy breast skin. Liposuction removed excess fat from the armpits and bra rolls.
At a secondary outpatient office procedure, medical tattoo to the areolas helped to take attention away from the areola scars and served as the perfect complement to her implant revision. Follow up photos are shown 3 years after surgery.
