Before and after liposuction of the neck in a 53-year-old woman. She was starting to notice some early signs of aging of the neck such as laxity of her soft tissues and a small accumulation of fat under her chin. She did not want a full neck lift yet but wanted to improve her submental region and jawline.
Liposuction of the neck was performed under local anesthesia, awake, with an oral anti-anxiety medication and inhaled laughing gas during the procedure. After surgery, she wore a compressive chin strap and took one week off work.
Follow up photos are shown 1 year after surgery, with improvement of the submental region – and a happy patient! She may consider having a neck lift procedure in the future, but for now, she is good!
