Before and after labiaplasty in a 27-year-old woman. At the same time as a breast augmentation, she wanted a minor trim of her labia minora so that when she stood up, she could not see the darkly pigmented labia tissue protruding from the labia majora.
A conservative labiaplasty trimmed only the edges of the labia minora, leaving a normal and natural amount of labia tissue behind. Part of the clitoral hood was also trimmed. A clitoral hood reduction is part of the vast majority of labiaplasties, to help remove excess skin and a long hood region at the same time as trimming labia minora.
Follow up photos are shown 6 weeks after surgery. Her results will not be obvious to others, such as future romantic partners or even her OB-GYN. We encourage our patients to tell their Doctor they have had a labiaplasty, as they usually receive confirmation about how normal and natural it looks!
