Before and after bilateral breast reconstruction revision with liposuction of the axillary rolls in a 67-year-old breast cancer survivor.  Her previously placed saline implants as reconstruction after bilateral mastectomies were under the muscle and caused chronic tightness and deformity every time she moved her arms.  The left implant has deflated, causing further deformity and asymmetry.

Her revision involved removal of the old saline implants, replacement of her pectoralis major muscles back to the chest wall, and reconstruction of her normal muscular anatomy.  New smooth round silicone gel breast implants were placed on top of the muscle, in the prepectoral position.  Liposuction removed excess fat from her armpits and bra rolls.

Follow up photos are shown 4 years after surgery.  Her animation deformity is gone, and she has greatly improved comfort, aesthetics and symmetry.  She was relieved to know that her new implants are probably good for at least twenty years, meaning that this was her last surgery, barring any future complications!
